I like this phone a lot. I had the RAZR before and battery life was about 50% after 1 year. The functionality of the Blackjack is much better, there are many shortcuts to important menus and even though I do not use the phone for data transfers yet, I believe that it is a good phone for call and text message use. The design is great, the screen is huge compared to the overall size and I love the keys.

I have had the Blackjack II for just a week and I have to say that I LOVE IT!!!! It is really easy to use once you get the hang of it. I have to say @ first that I did not think that I was going to like it because I am so used to flip phones. But after using it the first day. All I can say is WOW!!! I love the buttons because on all the flip phones you have to hit the key until you get the letter that you want and with this phone you do not, all the buttons are separated. I love having the internet and being able to do things w/out having to actually get on the computer. This is really nice and a big step up from the flip phones. I love the big screen and the fact that I can scroll down with the wheel or just click down. I love all of the options and the color of the phone of course it is my favorite color!!! But I have to say this phone is the BOMB!!!

The battery on the Samsung SGH-I617 lasts so long. I only have to charge it once a week with moderate usage. I never have dropped calls. The call quality is great too. I have owned a Motorola RAZR, a Nokia N75, and a BlackBerry Pearl and this has been the best so far. I love it and would buy another if I needed it.

The free phone was great. The service works well in the areas that I travel.

The Samsung SGH-I617 Blackjack II is horrible. I had it only for a couple of months when the middle button on the "track disk" went out. I replaced it with another Blackjack and then the "Enter" button went out. I also had to constantly reboot the phone every other day or every day as I could not get on the Internet on the Windows Mobile browser. It would give me an error. Once I rebooted it was fine, but it is a real pain to reboot when you are needing information quickly. I like the calender and how it shows the appointments coming up. The ease of the phone was good also. The quality of calls were not as good because the phone has to be up against your face which makes you sound like you are mumbling.

This is my first step into the pda realm and I am glad I purchased this device. It's easy to use, great to transfer music and videos to and from a pc.
